UK Young Artists Festival
After a successful national pitch win, UKYA asked for design and direction for the 2014 Festival, a national arts event showcasing work from young creative practitioners aged 18 to 24. Every two years, the event moves to one of their several set locations, with Leicester chosen to host the festival for 2014. Following on from previous events, UKYA provided a concise range of colours to work with, each relating to a different area of the arts. To create a campaign that stood apart from previous years a focus was placed on the idea of 'shining light on young talent'; crafting bespoke illustrated neon lighting via 3D software. The festival's visual language was then rolled out across all of their promotional materials, from programmes, posters and flyers to window vinyls, animations, badges, lanyards and beermats.
UKYA received a visual that stood apart from all previous festivals, providing it with an eye catching, memorable identity that was consistent across all materials produced. The reaction to the design was fantastic and the project has gone on to feature on design blogs worldwide.
